4WD Driver Training

A 2 day 4WD Driver Training Course for organisations which operate 4WD vehicles.

The courses are tailored to address the needs of participants and the types of work they are required to undertake.

According to the needs of the organisation and participants, the course may include:

Rough terrain driving
- Safe use of recovery equipment including hi-lift jacks, snatch straps, hand and vehicle mounted winches, anchoring, and safe rigging.
- Tyre changing and repair
- Manual handling techniques
- Emergency braking

- Defensive driving

Typical Objectives

- To develop an understanding of safety attitudes and behaviours that are a necessary part of safe vehicle operating,
- To understand the dimensions of vehicles and the forces which act upon them,
- To develop an understanding of how 4WD vehicles work,
- To gain experience in vehicle handling and recovery techniques in a range of conditions and terrain,

To impact on driver's knowledge, skills and attitudes in such a way as to enable them to recognise situations and conditions which could lead to the development of incidents which have the potential to cause injury, damage or downtime to individuals, equipment or operations.
